The flood warning for the River Wharfe at Billams Hill and riverside properties between Otley and Pool remains in force. River levels have been dropping in the upper catchments, but are now rising due to local rainfall. Levels are not expected to rise much further or reach yesterday’s levels. We are not expecting large amounts of rainfall through today and expect to remove the flood warning later on. We are monitoring river levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. Visit the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast and up to date river levels. The flood warning for the River Wharfe at Billams Hill and riverside properties between Otley and Pool, remains in force. Levels on the River Wharfe have fallen overnight and are forecast to continue falling, however they remain higher than usual. Further showers are forecast through Monday 21/02/2022 and into Tuesday. We are monitoring river levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. A flood warning has been issued for River Wharfe at Billams Hill and riverside properties between Otley and Pool, river levels are rising quickly. The flood alleviation scheme does offer protection from flooding however the following locations are at risk Billams Hill, The Sewage Works and properties and Farms between Otley and Pool. We are monitoring river levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. Visit the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast and up to date river levels. This flood warning has been issued as river levels are forecast to rise as a result of heavy rainfall on Sunday. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and land around Pool and Otley is expected today Monday 2nd November. Areas most at risk are riverside properties between Otley and Pool, including Bridge Avenue and Billam’s Hill. The River Wharfe at Otley is currently expected to peak at up to 1.7m at 7am today, Monday. Please activate any property flood protection products you may have, such as flood barriers and air brick covers, and stay away from fast moving water. Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast. This message will be updated in 8 hours or as the situation changes.

This flood warning remains in force following rainfall on Friday night (21/02/20) and Saturday morning. The current river level at Otley is 1.75m and the level appears to be at its peak. We expect levels to fall throughout Saturday morning (22/02/20). Areas of concern are the riverside properties between Otley and Pool, and Billam's Bridge is closed. Further bands of rainfall are expected over the coming days and river levels are expected to rise and fall. We are issuing the flood warning for the River Wharfe at Billams Hill and riverside properties between Otley and Pool due to heavy rain associated with Storm Ciara. Widespread heavy rain overnight on Saturday and continuing on Sunday morning, 09/02/2020, is causing rivers and watercourses to rise. The level on the River Wharfe at Otley is now 1.3m and is forecast to continue to rise, reaching 1.6m at about 13:00 hours this afternoon. Properties on Bridge Avenue may begin to flood at this level. The Wharfe at Otley is currently forecast to peak at 1.85m at about 17:00 hours this afternoon. We are monitoring the situation closely.
